Having acted for authorities, bidders, funders and sub-contractors on a UK wide basis we have built up considerable experience and knowledge across the whole spectrum of PPP and infrastructure activities particularly in the transport, education, IT, defence, health and prison sectors. This gives us the ability to provide the best advice to our clients as the market develops.
In addition, the team provides regular updates to clients and contacts through our e-bulletin service that keeps them informed about developments in PPP law and best practice.
We are currently advising MoD in relation to its Whole Fleet Management project and Western Isles Council in relation to its innovative Hybrid Education PPP project. Having advised Argyll and Bute Council on its pathfinder NPD Education PPP Project we are now working with a private sector consortium in relation to its bid for the NHS Tayside Mental Health Developments NPD
project.

- Western Isles Council in relation to their Hybrid Education PPP project to deliver new and refurbished schools on the Western Isles through a wholly owned Council SPV.
- Argyll & Bute Council in their £80 million schools project. The Council were working with Partnerships UK on a pathfinder project using an NPDO. The project won the Innovation Award at the Public Private Finance Awards 2006.
- Transport projects including legal advisers to Skye Bridge Limited and two separate DBFOs for Angus Council (A92 Upgrading) and East Renfrewshire Council (M77/GSO). We are currently advising a consortium bidding in the M80 DBFO project and Transdev Edinburgh Tram Operator in relation to the Edinburgh Trams project.
- Legal advisers to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in connection with its £700m PPP project to implement the Acute Services Review in Glasgow.
- Renfrewshire, Edinburgh, North Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire Councils on the outsourcing of their leisure services to NPDO organisations.
- Northlink (a Joint Venture Company between Caledonian MacBrayne Limited and The Royal Bank of Scotland plc) to provide lifeline ferry services to the Northern Isles.
- Other Education PPP projects in the following local authority areas: Aberdeenshire, North Lanarkshire, Dundee, East Renfrewshire, Fife, West Lothian, Edinburgh, Borders, Gateshead, North Ayrshire and Glasgow, acting for local authorities, developers and funders.
- PFI projects for the MoD including the provision of Heavy Equipment Transports (project value: £190m). The innovative structure and approach to this project was recognised through its success at the Public Private Finance Awards.
- Legal advisers to the Scottish Prison Service in connection with the HMP Addiewell PPP procurement for a 700-place prison.
