Shepherd and Wedderburn enjoy a leap year February

February 2004 has proven to be a leap year month in more ways that one for law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn, with a significant number of deals completed and new appointments brought on board.

The exceptional month of growth has impacted across all three of Shepherd and Wedderburn’s offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London. The firm’s London team has been appointed to advise on a new investment portfolio of top of the market residential property, while in the west of Scotland, the property team has been appointed as legal advisers to Renfrewshire Council and Scottish Enterprise Renfrewshire for regeneration project in White Cart area.

In Edinburgh, Shepherd and Wedderburn acted for Scottish Courage in the acquisition of the Caledonian Brewing Company. The Corporate Finance team also completed a stock market placing and open offer by Teesland plc to raise £13 million. Successful contract negotiations by the firm’s Edinburgh team have also allowed Miller Construction to develop the new City of Edinburgh Council HQ.

It was also a successful month for new business, with Shepherd and Wedderburn appointed to advise the Water Industry Commissioner for Scotland. Following competitive tender, the firm was also re-appointed as solicitors in Scotland to HM Customs and Excise
