Shepherd and Wedderburn scoop Scottish Property Award

Shepherd and Wedderburn has been named as Scottish Property Law Firm of the Year at the prestigious Scottish Property Awards.

50 judges from across the Scottish property market were asked to nominate who they believed to be the “leading lights” in various categories. The award of Scottish Property Law Firm of the Year is recognition of the outstanding performance of Shepherd and Wedderburn over the last 12 months.

Andy Birrell, a partner in the Property Division, who accepted the award on behalf of Shepherd and Wedderburn said, "We are absolutely delighted to have won this award. It is pleasing that so many of the key figures in the Scottish property industry see us at the forefront of legal advisers to the market.

“Over the last year we have worked on a number of major deals as well as attracting new clients and projects to go alongside long term appointments with organisations such as Scarborough Property Group, Scottish Enterprise, Miller Developments and Waterfront Edinburgh. We have been working with another winner from the awards, the Glasgow Fort by Pillar Property which was voted Commercial Development of the Year."

Chief Executive Patrick Andrews added, "Our last financial year was an excellent one for the firm and the Property Division. As well as the welcome external recognition from the award, this gives us an excellent springboard as we start the new business year and continue to move forward in meeting the needs of our clients."

The awards are sponsored by Property Week Magazine and the ceremony was held last night at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel.

Shepherd and Wedderburn has 13 partners in the property division and a further 41 legal staff. The division is further supported by specialist legal advice from across Shepherd and Wedderburn in areas such as: Corporate Finance, Litigation, Planning, Construction, Tax and Banking.
