Shepherd and Wedderburn advised on SMart Wind Limited’s successful bid to be awarded the Hornsea Zone off the Humber Estuary, one of the nine Zones outside UK Territorial waters made available by The Crown Estate as part of Round 3.
A 10-strong team from Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Energy, Planning, Property and Corporate Finance practices was involved in the successful bid, which was announced on 8 January 2010.
Stephen Gibb, partner at Shepherd and Wedderburn, led the team. He said: “This is one of the most significant deals in the UK energy sector and we are pleased to be involved in the delivery of such a positive outcome for SMart Wind Limited.”
