New planning and environment partner appointment

Leading UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has announced a further partner appointment bringing the total number of partners to 70 whilst also strengthening the planning and environment group. Patricia Hawthorn, took up her appointment on the 5 November and is based in the Glasgow office.

Patricia, a Glasgow graduate, has a vast amount of experience in both the waste and renewable energy sector and has just completed six months working with one of the UKs leading Renewables Developers. She is also part of the Scottish Executive Committee of the Environment Services Association (heading up the Planning Working Group in Scotland) and a member of the bio energy working group of the Scottish Renewable Forum.

Patricia will join the pre-eminent planning and environmental team which has recently:

  • advised Scottish Power in connection with the planning and environmental issues relating to the largest windfarm in Europe at Whitelee, Eaglesham.
  • advised on the Beauly - Denny electricity transmission line.
  • seconded Sandra Leece to Meridian Energy Limited in New Zealand to advise on renewable energy projects and effect legislative changes.
