Sixth New Partner for Shepherd and Wedderburn in 2007
- New partner to complement Glasgow Corporate Finance Team
- Partnership now 68-strong
Scott Boyle has become the sixth partner to be hired by leading UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn in 2007. Scott will join the Corporate Finance division from the 17th of September.
Scott, previously a senior associate with Dundas and Wilson, will work closely with George Boyle as part of the Glasgow Corporate Finance team. He will also support the firm's fast-growing Aberdeen Corporate Finance team which focuses on the oil and gas sector. As well as considerable corporate finance experience, Scott has extensive experience of the PPP/PFI secondary buy-out market.
The firm's Corporate Finance team acted for a selection of the UK’s largest plcs in some of the most significant deals of the last year. These included:
- Acting for Cairn Energy plc in the US$6.3 billion Indian IPO of its subsidiary, Cairn India Limited
- Advising ScottishPower in the £11.6 billion recommended offer by Iberdrola S.A., the Spanish utility company steering the scheme of arrangement through the courts
- Advising on BowLeven's £58 million placing and £30.1 million all share offer for FirstAfrica Oil
