Is your 'Fizzer' on the A-list?
Joined by their clients, leading lawyers from Shepherd and Wedderburn were this week seen rubbing shoulders with some of the UK's most glittering celebrities. Alongside the A-list of the Scottish legal fraternity, celebrity attendees included Sean Connery, Annie Lennox, Rod Stewart, Billy Connolly, Ewan McGregor, Gordon Ramsay, Lorraine Kelly, David Coulthard and Alex Ferguson - to name but a few. However, the lawyers weren't intimidated in the presence of such celeb royalty - in fact, they thought the stars were a bit one-dimensional...
Which of course they were. The celebrities were all in 'caricature' and not in person. The event was part of Shepherd and Wedderburn's sponsorship of the 'Fizzers' (fizzer is Scottish parlance for 'face') exhibition at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, which features over 250 famous faces.
Patrick Andrews, chief executive of Shepherd and Wedderburn said: "The legal profession is caricatured so often, that we thought it was about time we got involved with the professionals - and the excellent work of the Scottish Cartoon Art Studio in Glasgow certainly provided a refreshing backdrop for an event."
