Shepherd and Wedderburn announces senior appointments
Leading law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn has announced the appointment of three new partners to bring the total number of partners in the firm to a record 59.
Ewan MacLeod, David Mitchell and Euan McLeod take up their new roles with immediate effect, with chief executive Patrick Andrews predicting further business growth in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
"The renewed confidence within the property industry throughout the UK has been reflected by increased demand for the firm's services and we are better placed than ever to influence the development of our clients' business where they need it most.
"Ewan, David and Euan have consistently delivered for their clients in their specialist areas and we are delighted they have agreed to take on their new roles and bring the total number of additional partners we have announced so far this year to six," he added.
David Mitchell
David operates within the Property Division with particular emphasis on investment, development and leasing. His clients include Hercules Unit Trust, British Land/Pillar Property, Kilmartin Property Group and Baillie Gifford & Co.
Recent transactions include the disposal by Hercules Unit Trust of the Palace Grounds Retail Park at Hamilton by way of a Jersey Property Unit Trust sale and the acquisition of Brucefield Industrial Park, Livingston by Brucefield Estate Unit Trust.
Ewan MacLeod
A litigation expert who specialises in planning and environmental law, Ewan is acknowledged by Chambers Legal Directory as a leading individual who is commended for his "top class skills" as a public inquiry advocate.
Ewan advises both major developers and planning authorities on new developments, with current projects including proposals by a consortium of developers for around 2,500 houses near Stirling, the new Centre for Biomedical Research promoted by Scottish Enterprise and controversial bridge proposals by Shetland Islands Council.
Euan McLeod
Euan has been promoted to partner in the firm's successful Construction and Special Projects Group and has acted on some of the UK's largest and most complex construction and engineering projects. He recently acted for Southside Capital Limited in relation to its £400 million redevelopment of the Old Royal Infirmary site in Edinburgh and for the developer of the new Scottish Television headquarters at Pacific Quay in Glasgow.
Euan's clients include the Bank of Scotland, Kilmartin Property Group, Miller Developments, Royal London Mutual Insurance Society and Taylor Woodrow Developments.
