Delivering the Goods to Contractors

Delivering a successful project is the topic set to be discussed at Shepherd and Wedderburn’s next series of seminars to be held on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 March 2007.

The breakfast events, held in Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively, will explore key factors in achieving a successful project with the aim of helping contractors, clients and professionals seek the often elusive goal of consistency in delivering successful projects.

Topics set to be discussed include good on-site management and communications; keeping up-to-date and accurate site records and paperwork; clear and certain contract terms at principal and sub-contractor levels; pro-active dispute management and good cost controls and regular payments.

Speakers at the event include Euan McLeod, partner from Shepherd and Wedderburn; Martin Blencowe, Heery International giving the Project Manager's view, with reference to the Playfair project; Brian Law, Association of Planning Supervisors: the safety perspective; and giving the client’s perspective, Steve Hudson, Project Director, Jewel & Esk Valley College and Alex Kirk, Depute Principal, John Wheatley College.

The seminars will take place in Glasgow on Tuesday 27 March from 8.30 am – 11.00 am at The Lighthouse Conference Centre, 11 Mitchell Lane, and in Edinburgh on Wednesday 28 March from 8.30 am – 11.00 am at Hawthornden Lecture Theatre, Weston Link, National Galleries of Scotland.
