| Summary | Shepherd and Wedderburn acted alongside Linklaters on the merger of Dundee-based The Alliance Trust PLC and The Second Alliance Trust PLC. Alliance Trust and Second Alliance Trust were separate listed public companies which had worked closely together since 1918. The merger, which became effective on 21 June 2006, was implemented by way of a Court-approved section 425 scheme of arrangement to create the UK's largest generalist investment trust listed on the London Stock Exchange with combined net assets of approximately £2.5 billion. |
