Professional Regulation

Our Professional Regulation Group has a long established track record in advising professionals before their regulatory bodies. In particular, we act for two of the three UK medical defence organisations, and undertake the majority of cases before the General Medical and Dental Councils emanating from Scotland.

We also have wide experience in undertaking disciplinary and regulatory work for professional bodies. Our experience includes acting for clients in the financial and legal services sectors across the United Kingdom in the investigation and prosecution of disciplinary complaints.

The expertise to deliver results

Shepherd and Wedderburn is an appointed panel solicitor under the Law Society of Scotland Professional Indemnity Master Policy Scheme. We also carry out disciplinary and regulation work for the Faculty of Actuaries (Scotland), Institute of Actuaries (England and Wales) and the Faculty of Advocates.
