Overview Key People Experience  

With a team experienced in working across the UK, we act for clients in both the public and private sectors, including local authorities, bidders, funders and sub-contractors in sectors including transport, education, health, defence, waste, prison and IT.

The services we offer include everything from options appraisal and procurement strategies through preparing tenders and due diligence to negotiating deals and managing any contract changes. We also have extensive experience dealing with pathfinder projects and alternative procurement models such as NPD models and hybrid PPP projects.

Argyll & Bute Council

Acting for Argyll & Bute Council in their £80 million schools project. The Council were working with Partnerships UK on a pathfinder project using an NPDO. The project won the Innovation Award at the Public Private Finance Awards 2006.

Education PPP projects

Advised on education PPP projects in the following local authority areas: Aberdeenshire, North Lanarkshire,  South Lanarkshire, Dundee, East Renfrewshire, Fife, West Lothian, Edinburgh, Borders, North Ayrshire and Glasgow, acting for local authorities, developers and funders.

Ministry of Defence

Advised on PFI and other major projects for the MoD including the provision of Heavy Equipment Transporters (project value: £190 million). The innovative structure and approach to this project was recognised through its success at the Public Private Finance Awards and the MoD's Whole Fleet Management outsourcing project.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Advised NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in connection with its £600 million New South Glasgow Hospitals project.

Northlink

Acting for Northlink (a Joint Venture Company between Caledonian MacBrayne Limited and The Royal Bank of Scotland plc) to provide lifeline ferry services to the Northern Isles.

Outsourced leisure services

Advised Renfrewshire, Edinburgh, North Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire Councils on the outsourcing of their leisure services to NPDO organisations.

Pinnacle Schools (Gateshead) Limited

Acted for Pinnacle Schools (Gateshead) Limited in connection with Gateshead Schools PPP project.

Scottish Prison Service

Legal advisers to the Scottish Prison Service in connection with the HMP Addiewell PPP procurement for a 700-place prison.

Transport projects

Transport projects including legal advisers to Skye Bridge Limited and two separate DBFOs for Angus Council (A92 Upgrading) and East Renfrewshire Council (M77/GSO) and acting for bidders on light and heavy rail projects.

Western Isles Council

Advised Western Isles Council in relation to their Hybrid Education PPP project to deliver new and refurbished schools on the Western Isles through a wholly owned Council SPV.
